Biography

B. A. in vocal performance. Laura Gómez is a talented soprano with a remarkable voice and a strong musical background. She began her musical journey at the School of Music program in Medellín, where she discovered her passion for vocal performance. She furthered her studies at the prestigious University of Antioquia and has since become a celebrated soloist in various productions.

Gómez’s repertoire includes masterpieces by composers like J.S. Bach and Beethoven, and her voice has captivated audiences with its stunning beauty. She has had the privilege of working with esteemed mentors and has performed alongside the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the University of Antioquia student orchestra.

Laura Gómez’s musical talent has garnered recognition and awards. She was a finalist in the Young Interpreters of the Banco de la República Contest in 2017, demonstrating her prodigious abilities. The following year, she emerged as the winner of the esteemed XVIII Young Soloist Contest of the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2020, she secured first place in the renowned “Bogotá Lírica” singing contest, organized by the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra.

On stage, Gómez has portrayed a variety of unforgettable characters, bringing timeless operatic roles to life. From Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” to “Die Fledermaus,” “The Barber of Seville,” and “Hansel and Gretel,” she has delivered extraordinary performances. Under the guidance of respected conductors such as Alejandro Roca, Marc Moncusí, and Marcelo Ayub, Gómez has mesmerized audiences, leaving them yearning for more.
